Who we are
This site is owned by Laura Moore. The website address is: https://mumoam.co.uk.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you enter any personal information into a contact form on this site, that data will not be shared with any third parties unless explicitly stated on the form and your agreement obtained. Any information given will be stored securely and may be deleted upon request.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We are committed to ensuring that our website contains content that is valuable and useful to our readers. To help us with this we have implemented the Google Analytics demographics and interest reporting features on our website. These tools allow us to review anonymous data regarding the gender, age and interests of website visitors and adapt our website content to better reflect their needs. Although this information is collected through your Google ad settings, it is not provided to us in a personally-identifiable format. This means we cannot identify what information is about you, and we will never attempt to do so.
Who we share your data with
Any personal data shared with this site is for our use only. We do not share with third parties unless explicitly stated at the time you give your data. I will never sell, barter, or rent your email address to any unauthorised third party.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your contact information
Your information is stored at the list server that delivers this Site’s newsletters (https://mailerlite.com). Your information can only be accessed by those who help manage those lists in order to deliver e-mail to those who would like to receive this Site’s newsletters. I take steps to ensure that all Virtual Assistants I use to help me complete tasks are GDPR knowledgeable and compliant in their practices.
All of the newsletters or emails that are sent to you by this Site include an unsubscribe link in them. You can remove yourself at any time from our newsletters or mailing list by clicking on the unsubscribe link that can be found in every communication that I send you.
To ensure the security and safety of this site, I create fortnightly backups of all information on this site, which are held in a zip file within my own email server. Each backup file is deleted in full when the next one is created.
How we protect your data
This site has good-quality security protection. Your data is never made available to third parties other than those stated in this policy.
What data breach procedures we have in place
In the event of a security breach on this website, I will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
In the event of a security breach on any third party server which I use to store your information (such as https://mailerlite.com) I will notify you as soon as I can reasonably do so and I have been notified by the third party.
